Grunewaldsamkeit

Grunewaldsamkeit ist ein Wort, das ich mir selbst ausgedacht habe: Grunewald und Einsamkeit. Gemeint ist die gute Sorte Alleinsein, die zwischen Kiefern und Mooren im Westen Berlins entsteht, wenn der Kopf endlich still wird. Aus dieser Stille kommen meine Bilder: Frauengestalten zwischen Heiligenbild und Mythos, mit Strahlenkränzen, Runen und Sigillen, Blattgold auf dunklem Grund.

Meine Figuren schauen nicht zurück. Sie sind ganz bei sich. Wer vor ihnen steht, merkt meist erst nach einer Weile, dass er selbst angeschaut wird.

Seit Jahren lege ich Tarot und werfe Runen. Magie betrachte ich dabei nicht nur von innen, sondern auch durch die Brille von Wissenschaft, Philosophie und Hermetik: Was passiert im Gehirn, wenn ein Symbol uns trifft? Warum wirkt ein Ritual, und welcher Teil davon ist Psychologie, welcher mehr? Ich halte beide Fragen offen, und genau in diesem Zwischenraum entstehen meine Bilder.

Ich komme aus Baschkortostan in Russland und lebe seit 2019 in Berlin. Unter demselben Namen betreibe ich einen YouTube-Kanal über Neurowissenschaft, Physik und Magie, mit C. G. Jung als ständigem Begleiter. Neben der Malerei arbeite ich als UI/UX- und Webdesignerin, konzipiere Kurse für Deutsch als Fremdsprache und entwickle Chatbots und Wissenssysteme.

Grunewaldsamkeit is a word I made up: Grunewald, Berlin’s great western forest, plus Einsamkeit, solitude. It means the good kind of being alone, the kind that happens among pines and bogs when your head finally goes quiet. My paintings come out of that stillness: female figures between icon and myth, with halos, runes and sigils, gold leaf on dark grounds.

My figures do not look back at you. They are entirely with themselves. Standing in front of them, most people notice only after a while that they are the ones being looked at.

For years I have read tarot and cast runes. I look at magic not only from the inside but also through the lens of science, philosophy and Hermeticism: what happens in the brain when a symbol strikes us? Why does a ritual work, and which part of that is psychology, and which part is more? I keep both questions open, and my paintings are born in that space between.

I come from Bashkortostan in Russia and have lived in Berlin since 2019. Under the same name I run a YouTube channel on neuroscience, physics and magic, with C. G. Jung as a constant companion. Alongside painting I work as a UI/UX and web designer, design courses in German as a foreign language and build chatbots and knowledge systems.
